3	Kevin Gausman	RHP	Electric stuff and iffy command, just a bit of improvement could vault his long-term value.
4	Jonathan Schoop	2B	Plus power, maybe plus-plus down the line, slightly above average contact, RF maybe in his future.
5	Nick Delmonico	INF	Bat speed is back, contact and power tied to game, defense is a question mark.
6	Parker Bridwell	RHP	Grew a little more than 2 inches, starting to control himself in the second half, pure No. 2 potential, finding confidence again.
7	L.J. Hoes	OF	Power is below average, contact is above average and not quite plus (bat and approach to do so though), good defender, home is LF.
8	Mike Wright	RHP	Power pitcher with improved CH, looks more No. 2- 3 than any other role, delivery a slight concern.
9	Bobby Bundy	RHP	Injury tied 100% to command, still looks to be a No. 3 to No. 5 in my eyes.
10	Branden Kline	RHP	Great 1-2 punch, delivery tweaks and third pitch dictate role, solid arm speed.
11	Eduardo Rodriguez	LHP	Looks more BOR type lefty, good mix, looks better against LH batters and worth monitoring.
12	Glynn Davis	OF	Speed to burn, violent approach causes concern for contact, but gap power certainly feasible.
13	Jason Esposito	3B	Having a rough go, but picks up LH pitching very easily, game shows glimpses.
14	Clayton Schrader	RHP	Command is always a concern, but electric arm still has massive potential.
15	Johnny Ruettiger	OF	Slightly above average contact, gap power potential, sound OF skills, versatile leadoff ability.
16	Lex Rutledge	LHP	Power LHPs never grows on trees, role is in flux with tweaks made to mechanics an emphasis this winter.
17	Trent Mummey	OF	Gap power bat, surprising pop when healthy, quality defense and can stick in CF.
18	Zach Davies	RHP	Ability to display 4 quality offerings, any size and strength could vault him into type 10 and solidify BOR ability.
19	Roderick Bernadina	OF	Has never seen a pitch he did not like, nor could not hit, bat speed and tools are enticing.
20	Dan Klein	RHP	Arm injuries derailed very promising arm. If he comes back strong, quickly developing back of bullpen arm.
21	Adrian Marin	SS	Blend of bat (more contact driven), glove, and speed all very enticing, good all around ball player worth tracking.
22	Miguel Chalas	RHP	Power pitcher, mechanics have improved, role still a toss up to me, love bulldog approach and pounds it inside.
23	Tyler Wilson	RHP	Change up has made some progress, shows the drop action for high GB type pitcher, maybe BOR potential.
24	Torsten Boss	UTIL	World of tools, more contact than power bat, he could vault system in a hurry, true test is high A and AA.
25	Tim Berry	LHP	Flashes some skill with the ability to pull on a string, decent natural movement, needs to improve deception, very promising.
26	Connor Narron	INF	Sky is the limit with his baseball IQ, strike zone judgement, approach to game is improving, bat tool is something to monitor.
27	Juan Guzman	RHP	Electric arm that I have heard from scouts touched 95 mph, spin on curve has improved, very intriguing dark horse worth watching.
28	Devin Jones	RHP	Power arm with one of the best sliders in system. CH and 2S have found a home in his arsenal, command improving, starter future.
29	Matt Taylor	RHP	Command of arsenal is close to plus, little too good at times. Looks more back of bullpen arm, shows great deal of promise.
30	Christian Walker	1B	Polished contact hitter, more gap power than pure power bat, solid defense at 1B.

1	Dylan Bundy	RHP	#1 pitching prospect in baseball, with all plus pitches. Nothing else needs to be said.
2	Manny Machado	SS	Age 20 at AA and holding his ground. I love his bat and think the defense is plenty fine to stick at SS. Top 5 prospect in baseball.
3	Kevin Gausman	RHP	Workhorse from LSU who has pitched in big games already. Mid 90s fastball and plenty of potential here. Bundy and Gausman could be a big 1-2 punch down the road.
4	Jonathan Schoop	2B	Raw prospect with plenty of growth left. Shows flashes of power, and will impress with lightning bat speed. Struggles against good secondaries and defense is work in progress still.
5	Nick Delmonico	IF	Solid line-drive hitter who is above average in all hitting categories. Power potential is main question, and still searching for a position. Might be a corner OF down the road.
6	L.J. Hoes	OF	Prototypical contact batter. Minimal power due to short and compact load, but could be solid regular at MLB level.
7	Eduardo Rodriguez	LHP	Sneaky prospect who has steadily climbed way through system. 90-92 mph fastball, Been dominant at times for Delmarva.
8	Branden Kline	RHP	Potential to start but could be RP down road. Has a strong fastball at 91-95 and nice curve.
9	Parker Bridwell	LHP	Uber talent who has struggled in 2012. The overall package is unworldly good, but he is very raw. Talent alone keeps me intrigued.
10	Mike Wright	RHP	Has innings eater mold looked for in pitchers. Has found groove in AA after dominating A+.
11	Adrian Marin	SS	Speedy and raw athlete who has exciting talents for a SS. Quick bat and plenty of potential.
12	Bobby Bundy	RHP	I’m writing off 2012. Has way too much talent and something was just wrong. 2013 rebound on way.
13	Christian Walker	1B	Big-time college bat who gets on base. Power is main concern; Needs to move up and face better competition.
14	Zach Davies	RHP	Undersized and not a huge ceiling. Knows how to pitch and just has that “it” factor.
15	Trent Mummey	CF	Has huge talent if healthy. All-around game of power, speed, arm, range and base-running. Health issues huge.
16	Clayton Schrader	RHP	Wild and powerful bullpen arm. Racks up K and BB but is so gifted that makes one wonder the potential.
17	Glynn Davis	CF	Fastest player in system. Speed is unreal. Potential to be plus defensive CF. Bat needs works, especially on breaking pitches.
18	Miguel Chalas	RHP	Big power righty who has been up-and-down in rotation. A move to pen would rocket him through system.
19	Tim Berry	LHP	Projectable lefty has been pitching well in 2012. Missing bats and showing nice fastball and curve.

22	Michael Belfiore	LHP	A big get in the Josh Bell trade, has power stuff and could be a viable piece in O’s bullpen as early as 2013.
23	Roderick Bernadina	OF	Super raw and gifted athlete. Plus bat speed but has violent swing. Very similar to cousin Roger.
24	Torsten Boss	UTIL	Jack of all trades. Can play 3B/OF/2B, you name it. Elongated swing could hurt down road. Needs to be moved above NYPL.
25	Dan Klein	RHP	Has talent to be late inning RP. Health and lost 2012 really hurt him.
26	Lex Rutledge	LHP	Power lefty with mid 90s fastball and nasty curve. Could be a late inning arm down the road if he can cut down walks.
27	Matt Price	RHP	Projectable bullpen arm who could move quick through system. Throws 90-93 in relief, possible 6-7th inning guy.
28	Brenden Webb	RF	Repeating A-ball, but has shown the true skills he has. Cannon arm, high OBP, speed, power. Ks and contact big concern.
29	Juan Guzman	RHP	A little old for NYPL, but absolutely dominated there before promotion. Power pitcher who could move to pen down road.

Orioles Spring Training Notes: 4/2/12

Each night, Orioles Nation will set you up with reading material that includes the latest news, notes and links from writers covering Orioles spring training in Sarasota.

The Orioles held an exhibition game against Florida Southern today.

Their final spring training record was 11-13-6.

Notes

Former Oriole Rick Sutcliffe will throw out the first pitch on opening day.
Nick Markakis and Matt Wieters will received their 2011 Gold Gloves before the game.
Jake Arrieta has been named the opening day starter, according to MASN’s Roch Kubatko.
Jason Hammel will start the third game, according to Kubatko. Showalter will not reveal the other rotation spots at this time.
Rule 5 pick Ryan Flaherty has been told he has made the team, according to Kubatko.
The Brewers and Astros are two teams that are interested in Alfredo Simon, whom was placed on waivers, according to Kubatko.
There was confusion early, but apparently Simon can be outrighted to AAA in unclaimed, according to MLB.com’s Brittany Ghiroli.
RHP Dan Klein is still having shoulder discomfort and will see specialist Dr. Craig Morgan on April 13, according to MASN’s Steve Melewski.
2011 3rd Rounder Mike Wright and 4th Rounder Kyle Simon will open the year in High-A Fredrick’s rotation, according to Melewski.
Matt Hogbood tweeted that his surgery was successful and that his rotator cuff was in pristine shape.
