ON Top 50 Prospects – #34: Michael Ohlman
The Orioles’ ’09 11th round draft pick out of Lakewood Ranch HS, Michael Ohlman signed for $995,000 and made his pro debut in the GCL. With fellow catcher Justin Dalles injured at the beginning of ’10, Ohlman was given the opportunity to start at catcher for the Shorebirds.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #35: Rick Zagone
One of the most consistent pitchers in the Orioles system, Rick Zagone has posted solid numbers every step of the way throughout his three year minor league career. He was a sixth round selection out of The Universtiy of Missouri back in 2008, signing to a $150,000 bonus.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #36: Ashur Tolliver
Like the majority of the Orioles’ 2009 draft picks, Ashur Tolliver’s season was hampered by injuries. A sore shoulder kept him in extended spring training and as a result wasn’t able to open 2010 with the Shorebirds, as most expected.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #37: Wynston Sawyer
The Orioles selected Wynston Sawyer in the 8th round of the 2010 draft and signed him to a $300,000 bonus a few weeks before the deadline. He was a late riser and burst onto the scene after a big offensive campaign in high school pushed him up draft boards.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #38: Brenden Webb
A 30th round pick out of Palomar College, Brenden Webb signed for an over slot bonus of $250,000. He spent 2010 as part of Bluefield’s outfield and posted some good numbers, although they may not look all that impressive on the surface.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #39: Troy Patton
Once considered part of the Orioles’ future rotation, injuries have delayed Troy Patton‘s permanent return to the majors and he’s likely just a bullpen piece at this point. He did make it to Baltimore last year but made it into only one game, pitching just 2/3 of an inning.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #40: Eddie Gamboa
Eddie Gamboa has put up impressive numbers every step of the way during his time in the minors. He spent about half of ’10 in Bowie’s rotation and the other half coming out of the bullpen.
ON Top 50 Prospects – #41: Chorye Spoone
Once part of the 2007 Frederick rotation that included Brad Bergesen, David Hernandez and Jason Berken, Chorye Spoone spent last season as a member of the Baysox. Shoulder problems kept Spoone out for most of the 2008 & 2009 seasons, and he finally advanced to Bowie after 2 long years of waiting.

ON Top 50 Prospects – #42: Brandon Waring
Once considered a top prospect within the Orioles organization, Brandon Waring has taken a mighty fall. Waring was awarded the Carolina League MVP Award as a member of the Frederick Keys after posting a .874 OPS, but was unable to carry his A+ success into AA.
