| Deceptive delivery. Athletic. Played quarterback in high school. Good pitcher’s frame. Fastball has some late movement and is generally thrown in the 88-90 mph range. Utilizes a 79-81 mph slider which is an above-average pitch with two-plane break and some late bite. Fairly safe delivery that should not cause major arm issues if he repeats it well. Keeps both arms below the shoulder girdle, keeps his body linear and never crosses it, and his plant is in line as well. Tends to reach back and “gear up” during his delivery: arm bends the elbow back towards first base, but it takes his entire arm with him — too much movement that has to be perfect to get him in the correct path. Shortens his follow through and decelerates after releasing the ball; would be better severed by fully turning the hips and planting his foot down. Should be able to add 15-20 pounds.
