Scouting Report
Delivery is a tad cumbersome and leads one to believe that his future is in the bullpen. Has some additional stress on his shoulder and elbow that would not be a huge issue with limited pitches on the arm. Delivery is a slightly more exaggerated version of Carlos Marmol (Chicago Cubs). Gets a great deal of downhill action with very solid push, tuck, rotation, and stride length, which help take pressure from some of the previously mentioned items. Gets a good release and extension to make the fastball feel seem faster than it’s thrown. Has more movement on his heater than the average pitcher with his mechanics. Two-seamer has some late life that could become an effective 91-93 mph offering as he matures and builds up strength. Currently has two secondary offerings that will need some refinement, but both curve and slider show promise. Has not logged a lot action for someone with two years of college experience and should greatly improve with professional focus and a slight increase in muscular development.
