Scouting Report
Makes use of above-average arm strength and has good footwork behind the dish with soft hands. Leadership skills set him apart from most catchers and his game calling ability is as good as anyone’s — pitchers love throwing to him. When he makes contact, Dalles has good gap power and punishes mistake pitches up in the zone. He’s a tremendous fastball hitter. Dalles has all of the defensive tools necessary to become a backup catcher at the major league level but it remains to be seen whether he’s going to hit enough to provide value as a backup.
