First round selection by the Orioles in 2013. Great pitching frame with a ton of room left for growth. Clean pitching mechanics for such a young pitcher, good arm movement and action. Multiple scouts stated that Hunter Harvey was the best pitcher they saw in the NYPL in 2013. Still needs to work on conditioning and building up stamina, which is natural for a pitcher this young.
FB: 93-96 mph with great explosion and some natural movement. Will fall to 91-94 in latter innings, mostly due to a lack of stamina.
CV: 79-82 mph with tilt, sharp bite, and good depth. Potential to be a plus pitch, ability to snap into the dirt and still fool batters. Telegraphs the pitch at times, noticeable in his release and the distance he strides on his delivery. Even so, hitters still have trouble making solid contact on it.
CH: 82-84 mph with average fade. Lacks command and feel at times. Pitch is much further behind the others, but it should be noted that Harvey has not needed to use the change up outside of professional ball.
Delivery Times: 1.43, 1.48, 1.43, 1.47, 1.53, 1.41
