Outstanding defensive catcher; plus arm and tremendous blocking skills. Pop time consistently 1.79 – 1.82, with best recorded at 1.71. Patient with a good batting eye. Makes consistent contact but too many ground balls and contact is often weak. Doesn’t chase pitches Has trouble making contact with deceptive or high velocity fastballs. Calls strong games and has good footwork. Waits until the very last second to set up prior to a pitch, which makes every pitchers’ job easier. High baseball IQ.
