Bobby Bundy has a good build to go with his power pitcher arsenal. Already filled out, but will add strength as he continues to mature. The Orioles see him as a guy who can rack up 200+ innings per season with no problems. Dropped to the 8th round in 2008 due to signability and injury concerns (torn anterior cruciate ligament in right knee). Bundy’s fastball sits in the 91-94 mph range, and shows some good life and sink. Leaves it up in the zone a little too often, where it can get knocked around resulting in too many home runs. Throws a 75-79 mph curveball that is above-average now, but has potential to become a plus pitch. Tends to hang his curveball a little too much. Changeup sits in the 82-85 mph range, still needs work, but it’s coming along nicely. Aggressive and poised on the mound. Control is above-average but needs to command his pitches within the zone better. Projects as a #3 starter, but some potential to be a #2, although some feel his stuff is better for the bullpen. His brother, Dylan Bundy, has hit 100 mph with his fastball and is a top prospect in the 2011 draft class.
