The Orioles have hired Michael Boulanger as their minor league hitting coordinator, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports. Boulanger held the same title with the Rangers in 2011. The Orioles did not have anyone in the role of minor league hitting coordinator last season, according to Kubatko.

Boulanger never played professional baseball, but has been coaching at the high-school,college, and professional levels since 1971. He has been with the Texas Rangers since 2003, and worked previously with the Twins and Red Sox.
