Orioles Add Ray Poitevint As Executive Director of International Baseball

The Orioles have officially added Ray Poitevint as Executive Director of International Baseball, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports. Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun also broke rumor to this signing earlier.

Poitevint has been in baseball for over 50 years, and is widely known as a big figure in international scouting. Some names that he has signed are former Orioles’ pitcher Dennis Martinez, and reportedly Eddie Murray.

One could make the assumption that Poitevint has been working with the Orioles this off-season due to the fact that they have been very active in the Asian market already. The Orioles have already come to terms with two NPB pitchers, Tsuyoshi Wada and Chen Wei-Yin.
