Former Phillies GM Lee Thomas has been hired by the Orioles to work as special assistant to Dan Duquette, according to Danny Knobler of CBSSports. Thomas was the Phillies GM from 1988-1997 and is accredited turning around a dismal Phillies organization and leading them to the 1993 NL championship. After his days with the Phillies, he acted as special assistant to Red Sox general manager Duquette from 1998–2003.
