Orioles Sign RHP Stu Pomeranz

The Orioles have signed RHP Stu Pomeranz, according to Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus. His career was derailed by injuries, as noted by Goldstein.

Pomeranz, 27, has a minor league record of 34-34 with a 4.70 ERA, and a 1.428 WHIP in eight seasons within the Cardinals organization. He was drafted by the Cardinals in the 2nd round of the 2003 draft.

He is the older brother of Drew Pomeranz, whom was a key piece in the trade that sent Ubaldo Jimenez to the Indians.
