Keys Release 2013 Schedule

Keys Open 25th Anniversary Season on Friday, April 5th

Frederick, MD – The Frederick Keys, Advanced Class-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have set its schedule for the 2013 season. The upcoming year will mark the 25th season of Keys baseball.

Frederick will start its campaign at home for the second consecutive year as the Keys host the Salem Red Sox (Boston Red Sox). Frederick’s 70-game home slate will come to a close on Labor Day, September 2nd against the Potomac Nationals (Washington Nationals).

The Keys are four-time Carolina league champions, claiming the crown three times in the last eight years. Frederick has been in the top-three in attendance in the Carolina league in all 24 years of its existence. In 2012, the Keys finished first in the Carolina League in overall and average attendance for the first time since 1994. Year in and year out the Carolina League outdraws the California and Florida State Leagues, the other two leagues at its level.

“With a significant increase in attendance this past season, and also the current post-season run of the Orioles including many former Keys, we could not be more excited to get ready for our 2013 season,” Keys General Manager Dave Ziedelis said. “We will continue to bring affordable family fun to our region and can’t wait to open our gates for another season of Keys baseball.”

In 2012, Frederick saw top pitching prospects Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman come through and could see more of the Orioles best young players in 2013.
