Catcher Brian Ward’s 50-Game Suspension Ends

Catcher Brian Ward‘s 50-game suspension has now ended.

He has been playing in extended spring training games since Saturday, according to Steve Melewski of MASN.

Ward, 26, is known for his defensive prowess. This season was expected to be an important one in terms of development, but was thwarted when he received the 50-game suspension for a “drug of abuse”.

It is not known what affiliate Ward will be placed in quite yet. He was scheduled to join AA Bowie before the season began.
