Arizona Fall League Game 2: Johnson, Gleason, Lambert, Ward Debut

The Mesa Solar Sox (0-2) played their second game of the AFL season today, and lost to the Surprise Saguaros 8-7. Xavier Avery was once again in the starting lineup and four other O’s prospects made their 2011 AFL debuts. Here are results from O’s prospects:

  • Brian Ward went 1 for 3 with a run, an RBI, a walk, and a strikeout.
  • Xavier Avery went o for 3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Steve Johnson pitched 3 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.
  • Casey Lambert pitched 1 inning, allowing 3 hits and 4 runs with 2 walks.
  • Sean Gleason pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit with 1 strikeout.
