"Padres will listen to Headley trade offers; will take 'a lot'"

"Padres will listen to Headley trade offers; will take 'a lot'"

The Padres are getting calls of inquiry on third baseman Chase Headley, and while they head into the trade season with no intention to deal Headley, they will at least listen.

That makes sense considering their current standing. But one Padres official summed up what it would take for them to trade Headley in two words: "A lot.''

I need "a lot" defined to me in order to make a consensus opinion really.

If a lot means Anything like Schoop or Machado, I don't bother.

I am comfortable trading away a few other prospects we have, depending on what they need.
I just don't think the Orioles are in the position to be trading away the farm for one piece. They need more than one piece for this club to make it to the playoffs or far in it.
I don't think the Orioles are willing to make such a drastic deal either. Just a hunch.

Headley is pretty average IMHO.. If we're going to pay, let's pay for someone who will have a major impact. I just don't see this guy being the savior that many think he will be 8-)

A .834 OPS on the road with a good glove at 3B is average? I'm not saying he would be a savior but he would be a huge upgrade at 3B. He also has a .818 OPS against right handed pitching which is something Duquette said he wants to upgrade.
