Is it time to bring Xavier Avery back up?

Is it time to bring Xavier Avery back up?

Could Xavier Avery provide the spark that the O's offense desperately needs?

Avery will always be an option because of the speed he brings to the roster. I value his versatility in the field and in the lineup. I would like to see what he and Roberts can do back-to-back in the lineup, it would be a nice turn in the order.

I would also look at L.J Hoes, as I think there are 2 guys the team could remove from the 40 man and replace with Hoes. He will be a quality bat against left handed pitching, and provide a versatile glove that could play LF, CF, 3B in a pinch.

I've been really impressed with Hoes from what I have seen this week watching him.
However, he looks pretty bad in CF this week, so I don't know how that works out in the future. Almost like they have him there for trade bait (just an assumption, dont take that too seriously!)

I'd love for both to come up. Is it a tad too early? Probably. But the options are thin right now and as Don said, they could provide useful options.

I don't think Avery is quite ready, he had a 4 strikeout game a couple days ago. Hopefully soon though.

It's just one game. If that was the case for a week, I'd say its a problem.
I personally try not to hold one game against anyone. Could have just been a bad day.

I wouldn't mind Xavier coming back up strictly for some defense in the OF. Watching Pearce, Tolleson, etc. play defensively is starting to take its toll on me.

Avery just looks like he only needs that physical maturity only age can bring. His approach is solid so I think an extended visit would not hurt his long term potential and may actually improve it.

I think Hoes is more of a corner outfielder, while Avery has the biggest value in center.
