Troy Patton's tied with Pedro Strop for the most relief innings on the team. He leads O's relievers in FIP, WAR, and xFIP.

He has quietly turned into one of the team's best relievers.

He's been virtually unhittable for LHB: .177/.203/.262 and a .206 wOBA

...and he can go multiple innings. What's not to like?

I think he has made some other players expendable at this point.
Zach Phillips has to be upset. He'd have been on the MLB roster if it wasn't for Patton having such tremendous success.

He's been great and picked up where he left off last season.

I think not. He didn't do too well in that role in AAA after surgery. I suspect he gets exposed the third time through the lineup.

I would not move him back into a starters role. And yes, I don't understand what bird watchers comment on Gregg meant either. He started out kinda rough but has quietly been one of our more effective relief pitchers. I always liked his crafty lefty style.

I believe birdwatcher55 was responding to Tucker saying that Patton has made some other relievers upset with how good he has done.
