A few guys down there are rather interesting.

Adrian Marin - 3rd round pick this year is obviously one of the younger guys down there. Will be interesting to see how he does getting his feet wet this season.

Jalen Simmons- 24th round pick in 2011. He had rather poor numbers last year in the GCL, but he has a very projectable body at 6'4" 195, and is a very intriguing player in my opinion. Had a nice day today. Also seemed to impress Don.

Jalen Simmons really impressed me today with his patient approach. The progress I saw could show some helium, if it continues.

Andres Aguilar- Free agent out of Guatemala. Had some buzz along with him this off-season as he was one of Duguette's first international signings.

Aguilar showed solid plate coverage today and rode with the pitch. You can see the bat speed and the wiry power through the hands & wrists.

Michael Ohlman is down at GCL as well. Would be nice to see him get started in the right direction.

I have known Marin since he was 14, so this does not surprise me at all. He was a player I targeted and went just slightly higher than I had projected, but the ability was present. Let see if pitchers get a read on him in a few weeks and what he does to combat those new changes, it is real promising start.

Aguilar just looks like he does not belong here, well neither did Simmons the other day. I suspect both will have their ups and downs, but both are guys that garner attention as they progress through the system. Neither have been playing baseball long, so there is a lot more room for improvement, both clearly look the part.

Also I'd like the to note that Hector Veloz is playing for GCL team too.

He was a franchise record signing in 2010 at 300,000.

Any reports on how the 17 year old that got the Orioles scouts banned in South Korea looked? His line looked good for a first ever appearance but I can't find any reports.

They actually never signed him. That was a completely different pitcher.
