Why isn't Nick Johnson playing more?

How much versatility do we need?? I would rather have a potent bat like Johnson for 1B and DH as opposed to a good field, not hit guy like Pearce. Just my personal preferance

I don't believe I have once read that Pearce is a "good field, not hit guy". It seems like he has always hit well in the minors and just never got a good chance to stick in the majors as a starter.

Exactly. And he is not a stone off the bench.

I really don't like the way he has been handled of late. Gets a courtesy AB in the ninth and produces at GIDP to end the game. I mean that really sucks. Is he hurt?? Why isn't he getting more ABs???????

Honestly cant believe any one's concerned about Nick Johnson's playing time. I'm actually surprised he's still a major leaguer
