How 'bout LSU hitter Raph Rhymes? I know he doesn't have a position that he can play competently on defense. But his bat is gold.

I think that's too high for Rhymes. His season has been historically great, but he doesn't seem to make scouts think he has the tools that will translate to success in the majors. BA has him ranked as the 241st prospect.

A couple of college arms with upside potential. Then a lot of HS talent, these are the types of players that will put the slotting system to the test, setting precedent.

I'm real fond of Lefties, but truth is it's nigh impossible for a guy like me to predict who they like and can get signed. Have to figure some of the high schoolers will want to go to college. Near as I can tell it will be a pitcher though, with so much positional talent off the board already. If the team did it's homework they could walk away with a very good arm.

There are a number of tough sign HS bats and a few position players from college that could be intriguing. Project pitchers were this administrations backbone with Jon Lester being a prime example. If that is the case you could add Duane Underwood, Ty Buttrey...

Remember that money is tight and a guy like Gausman is not really going to save 20, 30, 40% from that 1:4 slot, so they grab what is slot or maybe even an undercut deal pick. If they go strictly on talent, there is a few opening up that are solid players and I would not worry.
