Lucas Giolito and the Orioles

From my understanding this injury is fairly common and is usually nothing to be too concerned about. It is possible he does have a tear that will require surgery but most likely all he needs is rehab. His upside is too good in my opinion for us to pass on at 4.

If this is indeed the case, then he is definitely worth selecting at #4. If he can't prove otherwise by the draft or it is worse than that, the Orioles should select someone else.

Until he checks out medically he's not on the board at all in my opinion. Prior to the draft it seems to me he will allow teams to check him out. Perhaps throwing or not, depending on where he is with the injury. Until the team(s) know his true status it's a complete mystery.

I am sorry that I have not been as involved this spring, but time and amount of duty took a large jump for me. It means that I also will hold information that I have first hand knowledge on considering who is getting bullpens with Lucas and when he is going to throw.

All I will say is that he is completely healthy and ready to go, it remains to be seen if the Orioles are going to get a read.

If all goes well, we of the Giolito bandwagon, need to hope the injury scares some teams off.

Giolito is probably not as advanced as Bundy, and missing a few months will set him back further. He's compared to Jameson Taillon who went 2 overall in a draft where there were only 3-4 guys who were heads above the rest. Talk is that if Bundy was in this draft he would be the first HS right handed pitcher taken first overall in history.

I have to seriously question these draft ratings from what I have read from various services. You're No 5 guy is the consensus No. 1 it would appear. Zunino is probably going at #2

Some still question Buxton because of his limited experience vs top competition. Plus his power is seriously lacking this year.
Zunino has been struggling lately, he's not Matt Wieters coming out or Buster Posey.
I like that he's mixed it up, makes be believe that he is studying and listening to others to come up with a list all his own.
