Tommy Hunter Optioned To Norfolk

Tommy Hunter Optioned To Norfolk

PostPost #1 by ofahn » May 7th, 2012, 5:13 pm

The Orioles are making room for reliever Jason Berken by optioning starter Tommy Hunter to Triple-A Norfolk.

Hunter is 2-1 with a 5.00 ERA. He lasted only 4 1/3 innings yesterday in Boston, allowing five runs and eight hits, walking one and striking out two. He's allowed nine home runs in 36 innings.

Hunter said his toe and back are fine. His issues aren't related to his health. He just needs to pitch better.

I had suggested they put him on the DL. The option surprised me too.

Like the idea that you better produce or things will get very uncomfortable for you. Matusz, Chavez, and Johnson should be next. Reynolds bad D is wearing thin on me also

Me too. This Showalter-Duquette combo could work out very well. Chavez...is a reserve outfielder who will probably hit better after a while. If he were a better hitter, he wouldn't be on the bench.

After what Berken left on the field last night, Hunter won't be down there long 8-)

Everything was belt high and above for Hunter the whole season. I really like his bulldog attitude and hopes he works everything out. Our roster is a fluster.
