The upcoming schedule is brutal

The upcoming schedule is brutal

PostPost #1 by Matt P » April 24th, 2012, 2:41 pm

The next 6 games: 3 vs Toronto, 3 vs Oakland

If they can go at least 4-2 it will set them up nicely before their schedule gets extremely difficult in May.

After these next 6 games they play 3 @ New York, 3 @ Boston, 4 vs Texas, 3 vs Tampa Bay, 2 vs New York, 2 @ Kansas City, 3 @ Washington, 3 vs Boston, 3 vs Kansas City, and 3 @ Toronto.

Needless to say, May is going to be a very tough month so they need to finish April out strong.

I read somewhere that last season the Orioles played 100+ games against teams with winning records, while Detroit only played around 50.

That's the AL East for ya!

Buster Olney tweeted it yesterday and I think he wrote an article based around it on ESPN.

They'll need a LRP or two for that stretch.
As of now, I am brutally afraid to see what happens with our SP.
I still do not trust them like some

Yeah, those offenses are going to be tough on the starters. I'd expect Eveland or Berken to be in Baltimore by mid May at the latest.

May will be the month to be find if the O's are truly going to be competitive the entire year. If they get out .500 I will be very happy.

They just need to take it one series at a time. True, it does look like a brutal schedule in May, but if the pitching holds up we will be OK.

If we get through May with a .500 record or above, people are gonna look at us as serious contenders. But I don't wanna get to far ahead of ourselves. Let's win this Toronto series first.

Starting off the Toronto series real nice. The pitching continues to carry the team.

Pitching must carry this team. We do have some really good hitters , but good starting pitching leads to a good bullpen performance which leads to wins.

3-0 so far let's hope there is no letdown against the A's.

let's hope.
This is where Arrieta needs to step up and become what is expected of him.
I'll be fairly disappointed in a sub-par outing tonight.
