4-24-12 vs Blue Jays

4-24-12 vs Blue Jays

This offense still looks quite dead. With Reimold hurting, Hardy and Markakis struggling they are going to have a lot of trouble scoring runs. The fact that they still are playing competitive is an excellent sign.

Tonight Hunter is doing just enough to keep the team in the game. The Wieters home run was funny to listen to given the call from Thorne. I was not watching the video so Thorne made it sound like it was a fly ball that may have hit on top of the wall or something for a home run. But I got to see the final replay and that was nothing like the play as it happened. Pretty funny.

For all the fire these guys keep talking about when Markakis is at the plate, all I see are weak grounders or swings which are late. The best hit he's had was the 2rbi perfectly placed single during Sunday's game. Other than that, I'm not impressed by the "hot" stats.

Bases loaded with nobody out and a chance to end the game as soon as it started and they only scored one run.

I'll be surprised if that doesn't come back to haunt them.

Not much hitting, but enough to get the job done. Hunter pitches continued to be up in the strike zone, but he was a bulldog pitcher tonight. All in all a good start to the home stand.
