Aaron Baker came over to the Orioles in the trade that sent Derrek Lee to the Pirates last July. He had immediate success upon joining the Orioles organization, posting a 1.063 OPS at Frederick before his promotion to Bowie.

Baker, a left-handed power bat, smashed 17 home runs over the course of the 2011 season.

Baker will go as far as his plate discipline allows him.

Don has him at #36 and Jordan has him not ranked in the top 50.

Jordan, is there anything specific about him you don't care for that created such a gap between you guys? I know that there is most likely not a major difference between 36 and 51 in an organization with as many issues as the O's, but just curious if there is something you see that you don't like.

He has good power, yes. I just don't see much else. He's a 1B and I really just don't see him having a role in the majors. When making these lists I think, "if I could have one of these guys in my system, which would I choose?" I'd just rather take a guy with more upside over Baker.
