Kyle McClellan is on the block; O's may be interested

Kyle McClellan is on the block; O's may be interested

The Cardinals would like to get rid of Kyle McClellan and his $2.5 million salary in order to put it towards Roy Oswalt.

The Orioles have been named as one of the teams interested. Would you like to see the O's deal for him?

I would love to have him on the club. As a Reliever. I think he would be Simon-like as a starter. But as a reliever he has put up pretty good numbers over the past 3 years. And at 2.5M, that's practically nothing.

That being said, if the Orioles give up anything legitimate for him, I would be pretty disappointed.

He clearly has some talent but the question is what is he going to cost us? I want to believe that the difference is not money, only what talent we would send them. We have money to spare. What we don't have is talent to spare.

IMO he's worth a C+ talent and no more.

From what I understand, it is Westbrook who we are looking at 8-)

I would greatly prefer Koji Uehara to Kyle McClellan.

But of course they would have to give up more to get Uehara.

As long as we're not talking about a legitimate prospect, then I think Uehara is definitely worth the higher price tag. McCllelan's FIPs have been high 3s over the past few years pitching in the NL in a pitchers park. Koji has proven capable of pitching well in the AL east and Camden Yards. What do you think it would take to get him?
