Rangers right-hander Koji Uehara enjoyed his time so much in Baltimore that he recommended the Orioles to the two free-agents the team signed out of the Japanese league, Tsuyoshi Wada and Wei-Yin Chen, according to a major-league source. A trade back to the O's is possible for Uehara, who rejected a deal to the Blue Jays this week.
Would you want him back? Personally Koji was one of my favorite Orioles last year. He was one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball the first half of last year and whenever he came on in the 7th or 8th I felt very confident and comfortable that he would get the job done without allowing unnecessary base runners and by throwing strikes (the anti-kevin gregg). The only knocks against him would be his late season collapse in Texas (which I'm not too worried about), his age, and injury history. Assuming it wouldn't take too much to get him I would love to see Koji back and joining fellow Koreans Chen and Wada on the roster. I know this doesn't go along with the rebuilding for 2014 plan but it's nice to see a pitcher on the team who throws strikes and can be relied on in the late innings.
