If I remember correctly, the Red Sox went 16-1 against the Orioles last season. The series between the two went 9-9 this year.
If the Orioles had won 9/17 last season the Red Sox would have tied for the wild card (not sure about tie breakers). If the Red Sox handled the Orioles the same way they did in 2009 this season, they'd have 90-92 wins (Rays have 90, Yankees have 92) and would be right in the playoff hunt.
Nice to see the Orioles stepping up and keeping the Sox out of the playoff hunt.
