The Twins confirmed the loss of Jim Hoey, adding that they outrighted recently-claimed shortstop Pedro Florimon to bring their 40-man roster count to 38.
The Blue Jays also confirmed the claim of Jim Hoey today, also noting they've outrighted catcher Brian Jeroloman and righty Drew Carpenter. Their 40-man roster is now full.
Hoey being claimed makes the Hardy trade even more lopsided now. it's easy to look back and say it was a bad trade for the Twins now, but it really is alarming that they essentially got nothing but a MiL RP for him (Brett Jacobson).
I think it's a solid low-risk pickup by the Jays though. Hoey has a live arm still.
Funny that Florimon was also outrighted to AAA after just recently being acquired by the Twins from the Orioles
