I just don't see the need for him at all...

I would accept a deal for Street if we got him at a fair price. If we did not have to give up anyone of significant value, and only a minor or mid-level prospect, then I would be alright with the trade.

Here's an article from Yahoo! written by a Rockies fan about Huston Street. It's not a very ringing endorsement for the guy.

Seems like he was the Rockies version of Kevin Gregg last season.

I would only be interested in obtaining him as a salary dump included in a bigger deal or a salary dump for a C / B type prospect.

Also, this from Troy Renck from the Denver Post yesterday:
@TroyRenck Troy Renck, Rockies
As for Orioles talking about Street. They had some interest a few weeks ago. Was told today, it had cooled.

Well I can certainly say we do not need 2 Kevin Gregg's on our team.
But yea, Multiple people saying it cooled down a little.
But anything can happen at the Winter Meetings.

I just hope that if a Street trade did happen , it would not send JJ to the rotation.

Here's an article from FanGraphs that I agree with.

Good read, thanks.
Don't exactly agree with the signing of closers stuff at the end though. We have tried that the past few years.

I think unless the Orioles can get him for a minor prospect, then they shouldn't do it.

Didnt JJ gain 3-4 mph upon moving to the BP. And wasnt he just a AAAA prospect as a SP...I know he is a better "pitcher" now but i dont see him being dominant if his fastball sits at 93-94...I say keep him at closer and with some role players added to the pen we end up having a plus pen....Getter better on "D" and be creative adding one more decent pitcher and let the young SP guys develope...NO on Street....

Looks like Street has been dealt to the Padres for a PTBNL and they will take on his salary.
