Guthrie and the Angels

Guthrie and the Angels

PostPost #1 by Zach » November 28th, 2011, 1:33 pm

Rumors have it that the Orioles are in talks with the Angels about a trade for Jeremy Guthrie. I am not that familiar with the Angels farm system and was wondering who the Orioles might covet from their system.

I don't think that Trout or Trumbo are really available to us

I will let you in on a little secret; the target is Kendry Morales. I do not think it goes very far into discussions and Guthrie has been shopped to a handful of teams in search for a first base upgrade.

I agree that I doubt it goes very far into discussion. I would be interested in Morales though. But with Guthrie's salary, and Morales still recovering from this injury, it seems like a tough trade to even fathom.

I think the only way Guthrie is traded is if the Orioles do get a ML ready or ML caliber player(s) back in return.

Callaspo is someone I would look to target as part of a return for Guthrie.

If you can't get Trumbo or Morales, this is not worth doing.
