Top Prospect List Format

Top Prospect List Format

PostPost #1 by Jordan Tuwiner » November 12th, 2011, 9:57 am

We're about to start our top 50 prospect list countdown and we wanted to get some input on how you'd like to see it published.

Do you like seeing a grade with each player? This would be the same grading system that John Sickels at Minor League Ball uses.

Would you like to see the players tiered? Anything else?

I would like grades as well. They'd provide tiers on their own, I guess.

I'd rather see them rated on the 80 scale. Grading doesn't tell a lot because you get like 15 guys graded a "C"

I think a list is fine with appropriate notation of strengths and weaknesses. Though you usually do this in your reviews anyway.

I just finished ranking my top 50 and Don is sending his over soon. Then I'll average the two lists and we'll begin the countdown.

We're going with just a list; no grades.

Grades are great, but any real breakdown of a players strengths and limitations is my real want.

Assigning a 45/60 now and future grade is too much projection. When I read something about a player I've not seen before I look for real insight.

I agree on the strengths and limitation. Looking forward to seeing where some these players are ranked.
