Gonzo is Gone Zo

Gonzo is Gone Zo

Curious how people feel about this? Sports fans are fickle folks and he has probably been the been the best guy coming out of the pen the last 30 days. Are you happy? Did we get enough in return?

Happy that we may finally see a younger reliever get a chance. I have no idea what we got in Pedro Strop, but Don will have a breakdown/scouting report tonight.

Sounds like the O's got a younger, cheaper, right handed version of Mike Gonzalez. Even if Strop has a ways to go to become effective in the majors, great deal!

The sad part of this whole thing is that he finally was in a groove over the last month. If he pitched like this his entire tenure, the Orioles would not have signed Kevin Gregg and may have kept Pedro Beato. There are a lot of actions in between that could have changed the entire outlook, if he were effective the entire stretch.

I am glad the Orioles got something for him. Strop has to refine some things and truly be given the chance to see if he can be the power bullpen arm that everyone sees out of him.

Glad Gonzo is able to play in the post-season for the first time.

I hope that Strop isn't another version of Wynn Pelzer - all arm and NO control. If they let him pitch in September we'll have a better idea of his potential.

To get anyone who might sniff the bigs for a month of M. Gonzalez is good. The team is in the crapper, Gonzalez has stunk 90% of his time here, and you never know. Any one with a live mid 90's fastball is worth a look for nothing. Which is what letting Gonzalez go with a month left is

Another chapter of disastrous bullpen signings by the Orioles closes. I don't hate MG, I just hated his production and hyperventilating on the mound.

glad to see him go. He was hugely over paid, and he performed very poorly most of the time he was here. One half of the trash brothers is gone. yes!!!
