What's with the celebrating mob at home plate on walk-off HR

Don't get me wrong....I enjoy an Oriole walk-off HR as much as the next guy. But the team mobbing the guy at home plate puzzles me. It would be one thing if we were anywhere near contention. But why do last place teams mob the guy at home plate like they've won the World Series?

Are they not allowed to enjoy winning?

After all of the losing, let them celebrate when something exciting happens.

They can certainly do what they want, but I find it kind of embarassing

I'm fine with them celebrating that moment. All teams do it these days. they need something posative to build on
