Trade right now seems to be Chris Davis for Koji.

Now looks like it is both Chris Davis and Tommy Hunter.

I posted this on Twitter last night: I am going to miss watching Uehara blow those 89 mph fastballs by hitters.

Good enough deal. A young replacement pen arm plus a maybe DH/1B/bench bat.

I'm pleased and surprised by this deal.

My guess is that the 2M we're giving Texas got us Hunter and, if he were the only player involved I would have been happy. I can't remember the last time this team gave money to get a better prospect in a trade.

To me, Davis is a throw-in and we should not stop looking for a 1B prospect (Yonder Alonso?). At this point it will probably be a winter acquisition.

I think we see how Davis hits for the rest of 2011, and if he does well, he's out 1B in 2012. If not, we look for a 1B prospect.

Happy with this. Now I say if we dont deal Lee by the deadline we release Vlad and let Davis hit. But since they wont even move Vlad out of the cleanup spot Im assumin they wont release him either

Vlad needs to get out of the #4 spot immediately. I have no idea what Buck is waiting for.

I cannot believe what the Rangers just gave away for Mike Adams. Kyle Wieland AND Robbie Erlin. Ridiculous.

Not sure why the O's went for Hunter and Davis when these prospects were clearly available.

Because OUR GM is Andy MacPhail and SD's isn't.

I agree with Don this move was more about 2012 than anything else. They keep shooting to miss 100 losses and not for wins a couple of years down the road. It could be a good deal for the team given they are just entering their primes and abilities so I don't hate the deal. I still would have rather gotten some upside prospect though.

I would rather have the Adams package, but reading Baseball America they seem to think that both Wieland and Erlin have #4 starter ceiling. Davis is a solid #4 starter already and Davis may be able to hold down 1B for a bit.

As I said Adams package is better, but not as bad as most seem to think.
