He's injured so he's on rehab down there.
You bring up a good point though. Honestly, send him to Delmarva and hope he enjoys some success. He's so used to struggling so see what he can do after hitting well for an extended period (assuming he hits well in the SAL). Give him some confidence.
We know he still has the bat speed, just needs to sharpen approach. . .a lot.
It's different, but we saw something similar with L.J. Hoes. He was expecting to open 2011 with Bowie and when he was sent to Frederick he tried to do too much. His batting average and walks went south despite it being his second year in the Carolina League. When he was promoted to Bowie he was more comfortable, returned to what he had been doing for all of 2010, and started to hit again.
