Former O's farmhands are popping up all over the map having strong seasons.
Justin Turner is in the bigs with the Mets hitting .356. He has RBI's in 7 consecutive games and has only K'd 7 times in 59 AB while playing mostly 3B. How's that compare with what we are seeing at 3B?
Pedro Beato, picked in the rule 5 draft by those same Mets, has an ERA of 0.00 through 12 games and just over 18IP. Good thing our bullpen has been strong and we really don't have a need for someone with an ERA of 0.00.
Michael Aubrey, who spent last season in Norfolk, is playing for Syracuse in the IL (AAA for the Nats). Last week, he hit 4 HR in a single game. Admittedly, he is not having a great season, but in his last ten games he is hitting almost .400 with 14 RBI.
Oh by the way, David Hernandez has 20IP this season in Arizona, and has an ERA of 2.18.
Although role players and bullpen guys all, it just seems that we continue to develop players and then end our relationship with them just as they are ready to be able to assist a club. I just don't see any accountability by the player development group.
