I like the "Almost Prospects" list, great picks & great analysis.
A quick glance (through July 30) shows some nice #'s for most of the guys. Of the position guys, it seems Kelly (a mid season All Star) has been the most productive, and as you pointed out, quit the Super-utility guy. I think he's played like 7 positions. Is anyone else that versatile? He kinda reminds me of some other multi position guys in our organization -
Blake Davis & Buck Britton. He also reminds me of an ex-big leaguer, Bill Mueller (also a switch hitter with similar size) who was a 3b/2b, hit .291, with nearly equal BB's to K's, and averaged less than 8 hr's/yr in 11 years in the big leagues. Their numbers are very similar.
I'm surprised Kelly hasn't gotten an opportunity in Frederick. Any thoughts?
Schutz in the SAL had amazing #'s. Is the Carolina League that much better? What are your thought their?
