I'm not so sure about that. The team got him just enough ABs at the end of last year that he could see the flaws in his game. He went to the AFL and worked hard on fixing some of those flaws and then used the two months between the end of that season and now to add the muscle he was missing. IMO he's showing the accelerated development you absolutely have to see from someone his age.
From what I understand the bat speed is there, but he has a few flaws in his swing that causes him to be late on the FB. IF
he can fix that he has developed the strength to be an above average ML hitter. His ability to improve his defense will determine if he's going to be just a DH/platoon player.
I'm not predicting it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a monster ST and force his way onto the team. That being said, I don't want him in Baltimore unless he's getting at least
15 PAs a week. Otherwise, he SHOULD be in Norfolk.
