A three sport star in high school (football, baseball & basketball), Parker Bridwell signed for an over-slot bonus of $625,000 as the Orioles’ 9th round selection in the 2010 draft. He was heavily recruited as a quarterback and had originally commited to Texas Tech. Now that he’s focusing on one sport the projectable righty has the ability become a serious threat on the mound.

Surprised to see Bridwell ahead of Bundy, just based on what I've seen you write about both of them over the last year or so. What is Bridwell's innings outlook like this year? Will he top out at Delmarva, and look to start next year at Frederick?

I've heard nothing but good things about Bridwell. I think there is some true #1 potential in this kid while with Bundy his ceiling is a bit lower, though is a bit more proven. Bridwell already throws pretty hard but I wouldn't be surprised to see him add 10-15 pounds which could add a few more ticks.

Because he'll be with Aberdeen I don't think innings will be much of a concern, as the short-season already provides a nice inning limit. I think the most likely outcome is a full season with Aberdeen and a spot in Delmarva's 2012 opening day rotation.

Then again there is always the possibility that a spot opens up at Delmarva and Bridwell makes the trip up north. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen.
