The kid is bordering on awesome.
Pitches: 555 (357 Strikes, 198 Balls)

Cumulative ERA: 2.05 (AA-Bowie)

Could he get a cup of tea in Baltimore this year??? 8-)

Yes, he's the only one in the system.

He's showing a lot of promise (upside is probably #4 SP) and I wouldn't trade him him for a rental, but he's EXACTLY where he belongs; AA, and should continue his development there.

He's got innings to build up and at least 5 more turns through Bowie's rotation before being considered for promotion to Norfolk. What's the rush? Let him earn his way up through the system and face more advanced batters. He may only be a back end of the rotation type but I wish we had four or five more guys like him in the minors. As a matter of fact we really should have four or five more like him. This typically is where real workhorse type arms are found.

Tim Berry and Eduardo Rodriguez are similar pitchers with more upside. After that, it gets a little thin.

I'm a really big Wright fan. Great arm and will play really well at CY.

He could provide some help in the bullpen this year if needed, but I'd like to see him develop as a starter.

Doubtful. The team is going to have to realize that the quickest possible path to the major leagues is not very often a wise one. Hopefully I am completely proven wrong regarding Gausman and he is able to continuously improve each start. Usually though it's uneven results from one start to another before a pitcher matures.

With Wright, he can totally become a solid middle of the rotation guy. Why gamble though, let him face tougher competition this year and at least half of next before starting his service time and run the risk of wasted options.

I thought I read somewhere that "brave" was the new uninformed.
