Tigers want Hardy, but O's unlikely to deal him

Hmm, I wonder how that Phil Coke closer thing is working for Detroit.

Are they really using him? He's one of the last guys I would pick in the Tigers bullpen to save games. The dude is a LOOGY, as evident by his .299 .370 .431 .801 split against RHH.
Phil Coke: good peripherals but 9.32, 9.77, 11.83 H/9 last three years
Joaquin Benoit: solid K/9 & BB/9, but rising ERA & FIP the last three years and freakish 1.77 HR/9 last year
Octavio Dotel: he's been a very good pitcher the last two years; probably their best option
Al Alburquerque: highly unhittable but worrisome control issues
Brayan Villarreal had a nice year last year.
Overall, I could definitely see them making a trade. Maybe they'll take Luis Ayala :x (not too happy with him right now)

I'm shocked this threat is still floating around and people ACTUALLY want to deal Hardy. It blows my mind really

THEN JUST IGNORE IT. Some of us think it's relevant.

Besides you, who really cares what the Tigers' bullpen situation looks like. JJ is not going anywhere. Stop beating a dead horse 8-) BTW: I can read so stop raising your letters. It's very condescending and you don't wear it well 8-)

Are you of the opinion that if a team has a good player, that they should never trade him, under any circumstances?

Why trade a Gold Glove shortstop and one with 30 HR power???? Makes ZERO sense to me when he and Manny give you a total lockdown situation on the left side of your infield. 8-)

Baseball is a business. JJ Hardy is a fine short stop by every measure. However, should a trade transpire that you need to seriously consider then you do so with open eyes.

I doubt seriously that Hardy is traded. However, if a team were to somehow make a strong offer...

It's not going to happen. But, as far as speculation goes there is nothing wrong with this thread.

Sure glad we didn't trade both JJ's in any deal that involved Peralta...............

Perhaps you should read the thread again starting from the first post.

Peralta was ALWAYS a throw in; a place holder until Castellanos was ML ready. That would easily have been now so we would not have been hurt by a suspension.

Peralta was still involved as a throw in OR the centerpiece, and the Orioles would have a hole to fill. Posts were full of what Peralta brings to the table and his stats.

My memory is good enough where I don't READ the thread again.
