I think they win 91 games this year and take a wild card.

1. They win 95 and edge the Jays

2. Hammel, JJohnson, Markakis and Weiters make the All Star game.

3. That by Aug 1 at least 2 of the Starting 5 will be different and Gausman will be one of them.

4. Aug 1 At least 3 in the Pen will be different with Bundy and Wada being 2 of them.

5. We make a significant trade by Aug 1. Hopefully at DH or Top Starter and not to replace an injured player.

6. Brian Roberts plays in 95 games.

The season can be broke down into 18 nine game increments. To garner 90 wins all the Orioles need to do is win all of those 18 nine game increments. That is to say through every nine games they need to win 5 and only lose 4. As this team is set up and with the various scenarios throughout the schedule I do believe that this is a definite possibility.
With the NY Yankees (injuries), Boston Red Sox (pitching), Toronto (gelling together) the Orioles need to get off to a good start against them when playing head to head. Fifteen of the first 21 games are within the AL East. A 10 win 5 loss record should be anticipated to get us off and running.
6 with the Rays
3 with the Red Sox
3 With NYY
3 With Boston

Mixed in we have three with Dodgers and three with Minnesota. By April 24th the Orioles will have an idea of what the division rivals can do against us even though it will be a small sample size. The roster will probably have two or three changes to it as because of a nagging injury here or poor performance there.

The division opponents also will have a handle on their rosters and the limits that can be placed on them.

Will the staff be as good in Toronto as they are on paper? . The Blue jays will either jell together or look like a mistake to have given up those MiLB players.

Will the Yankees have more injuries and an idea of when those injured will return?? Will the press already be calling for change in management?? Will the aged front line pitchers of Kuroda, Sabathia and Pettit look like a front line rotation or will they look like the need to be replaced??

Boston fans will have a better understanding of the money spent and will know if those under-achieving pitchers have returned to form. They should also have an understanding of the bullpen and will it work together or implode. Will Big Papi be relegated to the sixty day DL or a productive member of the lineup??

Tampa will be able to bring up the players that they held of the 25 man roster so they could secure an extra year of control. Will they miss the two pitchers they traded away or will the youngens fill in???

I should re-address this topic the First of May because of all the changes the competition made in the off-season but I do think the 90 win plateau is obtainable as things stand now.

84 wins but a better team overall. One that tells us exactly what we do and do not have.

If they give up the EXACT same number of runs and score the EXACT same number of runs they will win 85 games. For each 12 runs LESS they give up or 12 runs MORE they score they will win one more game.

IMO this team (and its supporting farm system) has the potential to win between 93 and 97 games.

Misinterpreted your post. Put you down for 95, (potential to win between 93 and 97).

Edited now.
