Talked to some Orioles people this weekend that said Kevin Gausman was 95-99 mph in short instructs stint. He must be pissed about Hostess.

I've heard some great things about him lately. Can't wait to watch him next season.

It will be interesting to see what speed he can maintain in the seventh.

He should be able to maintain velocity. He has the strength and frame to do so.

You would think that, but I was amazed by the substantial difference in Tommy Hunter's velocity when he just worked one inning. David Hernandez was the same way.

I am curious. I've read that he's figured to be in Bowie's rotation at the beginning of the season. Is that fair considering he only appeared in Frederick for about a cup of coffee?

Yeah, they just wanted to get him some work before the season ended. He's advanced enough that Bowie shouldn't be a stretch. He might struggle a bit at the beginning of the season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him come on fast.

I'm curious how his curve ball is progressing if at all. Nobody questions his heat or change; it's his curve ball that I understand is average or below 8-)
