If they want us to believe 95 wins is possible making moves like these are necessary. His demands have to be within reason and his off-field character issues have to be addressed. And so far they have not improved this team.

If you worried about off-field character issues, maybe Delmon Young isn't the best fit. There is no hiding we need a right handed complement in left field and DH. We have that between 2 of Conor Jackson, Danny Valencia, Nolan Reimold, and Steve Pearce.

I think it's telling that Delmon is still pn the market. He had a decent season last year and I do think he would be a slight upgrade over our platoon of reimold and Pearce. His glove is average, but I agree with previous posters that I am concerned about being able to score enough to be competitive in the east.
I am on the fence as far as signing him. I guess it would depend on the deal. I would not give more than 5-6 for 1 year.....

$5-6mil is a gross overpay for Delmon Young. Jonny Gomes is making $5mil a year for the Redsox and hits lefties much better. That was a overpay. You just don't pay $5mil a year for a platoon DH.

We could do a lot worse than Delmon Young. If you can get him at value, why not roll the dice?? I don't see too many better options right now if you want to add another bat without giving up young pitching 8-)

There aren't many players in the history of MLB I'd less like to see the O's give ABs to than Delmon Young. He's awful.

I can think of dozens of players who are far worse than Delmon Young. Few however mash it at a 1.062 clip at Camden Yards 8-)

That's NOT an endorsement that instills confidence when I'm looking for a player.

Delmon Young only has a .321/.376/.440/.817 slash line career at Camden Yards in 93 PA against the Orioles staff over the last 7 Years.
His overall slash line against the Orioles is .259/.300/.370/.671 for his carrer.

Average is an incomplete indicator of productivity.
