I like Luke Scott, but the one thing this guy will never do is go with a pitch. The meatball at 3-1 was something that if he simply stepped into the pitch that boy could have launched. He steps slightly out, head out and trying to mash it over the right field fence.

Finally the Orioles learned something

Whenever you have a pitcher working on a quick rhythm, you force him to throw pitches. These guys tend to rush and the command goes when the go through multiple pitches per batter.

As I recall that was one of the main issues early on last year. They were swinging way too early, not working the count and letting starters off easy. Well that and the fact that Gonzalez couldn't get anyone out in the ninth.

O's took 1-0 lead in third inning of the opener last year.......1-0 lead in third inning of today's game. Let's hope they don't end the same way!

I think we're very lucky to get that ball into the outfield while Hardy was on second. Otherwise I don't think we would have scored and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't score until Price is removed from the game.

Guitrie is not at his best reaching those levels. His best stuff sits at 91-92 and he can get on top of the ball simply like the last at bat with the human statue.

I cannot wait until the day these "take 15 seconds between pitches" type of players are out of the game.

Yeah, pretty much strcitly a pull hitter. You'll rarely see him take a ball to left -- always crushing his homers over the RF wall at OPACY.

Did you prefer the old forum style where the user info was in the top of the post, followed by the post or do you prefer how it is now with the user info to the left and the content on the right?
