The winter meetings have begun in Nashville. Do you believe the Orioles are more inclined to make a modest (LaRoche, Liriano, Haren) "free" agent deal, a trade; or both?

If you think they will sign a "free" agent that would be a starting player, whom do you see it as being (PLEASE, no Hamilton, Greinke, Edwin Jackson, or Anibel Sanchez silliness. Post that under - Not Going To Happen Until They Get REAL With Their Demands).

If you think they'll make a trade, whom do you think they will want and what will they be willing to give up?

As always, please explain WHY you think this will be a good move for us and/or the other team in a trade.

I don't think LaRoche is going to be a modest signing. He probably wants 10 million+ per year after the season he had last season and he wants 3 years.

IMO his leverage to get three years disappeared when the Nats traded for Span giving them the option of moving Morse to 1B.

They can always trade Morse if they re-sign LaRoche. Other teams are interested in him as well.

No doubt. The question will be whether they want to spend their money on LaRoche or to fill (or improve) another hole.

I think that is very likely. I also think LaRoche will end up getting 2 years.
