Tigers To Sign Torii Hunter

Tigers To Sign Torii Hunter

PostPost #1 by Seafordeagles » November 14th, 2012, 3:12 pm

All I can say is wow. If this guy gets 13 million a year (which is more than any Oriole players yearly salary) and will be 38 next season, then I hate to see what Hamilton will bring a year. That's crazy money.

Hamilton is going to get a minimum of $25 mil per year. The only question is the number of years someone is willing to gamble 8-)

I thought so too. It's about 5M more than I would have given him for ONE year, and I would NEVER have given him two GUARANTEED years.

It may not qualify as a "stupid money" signing, but it comes REALLY close.

I think Det. is thinking "now or never" and "the future is now" w/signings like this. In all liklihood they also get Victor Martinez back this season and this signing gives them a very potent lineup.

I think Hunter was a good signing. Still a very productive player who drew interest from several teams 8-)

...and he would have been a good signing for us on a ONE year deal.

I think he is in line for a regression next season. I never would have given him the contract Detroit gave him.

Exactly, a .389 is just ridiculous considering his career marks before last season.
