Pedro Beato news?

Anyone heard anything on Pedro Beato over at Mets camp this spring?

I remember reading an article on him over at the Mets team website. I'll try to dig it up for you.

I think he might be coming back because with the Mets in financial ruins at the moment, they cannot afford to simply allow Perez, etc... to walk free and eat millions of dollars. The numbers game is going to leave him on the fence and I hope he does come back because he is a future late inning eater.

Thanks for the links. I just looked up his stats, looks like he's been in 7 games, 7.1 IP, 9H, 6R..4ER, 3BB, 3SO. I'd like to see this guy come back and be at AAA this year

Unfortunately it looks like the Mets are going to stick him in their bullpen come opening day.

I still say that you have atough time "stashing" players unless you are so depleated of talent and or expectations. The Mets will have a few bumps in the road and they will not tolerate a "re-building" process. I think if he is used sporatically, he will be back with the Orioles later in the season.

Just speaking of the Mets pen real quick...I saw Bobby Parnell pitch the 8th last night (Sat) and that guy looked to have some electric stuff. I can see him being their closer next year
